Transparent Images on Journal Pages

How to add images behind your lines or text

To place a transparent image behind your journal or planner layouts:

  1. Choose an image with a transparent background (.png)
  2. File --> Place to add your image as demonstrated in previous lessons
  3. Arrange your image behind your lines by:
  • Drag and drop in the Layers Window. You want the image to be below the layer that contains your lines, OR
  • Select your image and from the Layer Menu -->Arrange-->Send to Back (this puts your image at the very back; use send backward to move your image back one layer at a time


Change the opacity of the image by selecting the image in the Layers window. In the layers panel, adjust the opacity with the sliders, or by typing in the number (% opacity) that you want.
